Day 3: Serving, Ranking & Search Quality - Insights from Google Search Central Live

We’ve only just wrapped the morning, and already the insights are packed:

🧠 How Google ‘thinks’ about queries (or keywords)

We saw how it breaks sentences into meaningful chunks, strips out stop‑words, and introduces synonyms or semantic equivalents behind the scenes. RankBrain, BERT, Neural Matching and MUM help match what people mean, even if it’s phrased in unfamiliar ways.

✔️ What counts as quality now

New Google guidelines flag AI‑generated or paraphrased content created with minimal effort especially at scale as lowest quality. That includes content that adds no originality or value, no matter how well attributed.

🤝 Real Value Over Automation

Google doesn’t penalise AI outright. But rankings rely on E‑E‑A‑T: true expertise, genuine experience, authoritativeness, and trust. AI can assist, but the human editor needs to bring real insights.
