🌟 Trailblazer Alert! 🌟

Meet Miliakere Dinawa — Fiji’s first-ever veterinary nursing graduate! 🎓🐾

After earning her Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing from Unitec Institute of Technology in New Zealand, Miliakere returned home with a mission: to elevate animal healthcare in Fiji and inspire the next generation of veterinary professionals.

Her journey began at the College of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (CAFF) in Fiji, where she studied Animal Health. But seeing the gap in local veterinary services, she took a bold leap to further her studies abroad.

💬 “I wanted to be part of the solution,” she says. And she is — in a big way.

Now the acting head technician at Fiji National University (FNU), Miliakere leads clinical training, develops veterinary procedures, and ensures students get hands-on experience in labs, clinics, and farms. 🐶🐄🧪

Her path wasn’t easy — from overcoming a fear of reptiles 🦎 to navigating life far from home — but her faith, determination, and support network carried her through.

💡 Her message to young Fijians:
“Don’t wait for someone else to create the path — be the one to start it.”

We’re so proud of Miliakere for paving the way and proving that passion, courage, and purpose can change lives — and industries.

👏 Join us in celebrating this history-making graduate and the bright future she’s building for animal health in Fiji!
