We are UoA's Game Dev club. We provide resources, through workshops and events, that help promote gam

We are club with a mission to provide skills and experience in game development to students, as well as introduce a growing part of the industry to them. We run regular tutorial sessions, encourage members participate and collaborate in competitions, and connect with current companies in the game development industry.

Brrr, Kiwijam is here! Join the annual biggest weekend-long game jam in Aotearoa, open to anyone and everyone in Auckland! 🥳💚

You'll have 48h to form teams (with students to industry devs) 👯‍♂️, develop your game from scratch with our theme this year (unveiled during our launch) 🤭, and optionally use the MakerSpace to generate a unique hybrid/physical game ⚒️. Make connections 🫂, snack on free kai🍕, and have a blast seeing the chaotic creations that spawn during this tumultuous weekend. 💥

At the end, submit your games onto itch, and we'll let the public and your fellow devs decide if your game is truly worthy to be the most ###x this year (the categories are *always* sus). 🕵️‍♂️🏆

🔸 Want to show off older or non-jam games? Submit them to the Non-Jam Showcase link, also in our bio!
🔸 Come early (~5:30pm) on the night to set up your builds
🔸 Playtest everyone’s games, hang out, vote for your faves, and have some 😋 FREE PIZZA 🍕

Hey folks, we're gonna do a chill drop-in sesh this Thursday for those who want to work on your GDG Jam game in-person. 🎇

It's a great opportunity to meetup with your team, get feedback and playtest your games, ask for help from our tutors and execs, (and steal ideas from others) 😸

There's also going to be free pizza during the evening, for all of our hard working attendees. Otherwise, there's gonna be snacks to sustain you through the day.

The Semester-Long Game Jam kicks off this Monday, March 17! This is your chance to work on a game throughout the semester, collaborate with others, and bring your awesome game ideas to life.

At the event, we’ll reveal the theme, give an overview of how the jam works, and help you connect with fellow developers, artists, and designers to form teams. Whether you're experienced or just starting out, everyone is welcome to join in.
