Today marks the launch of Te Ōhanga Māori 2023 – The Māori Economy 2023 report, which was produced in partnership with BERL.

This highly anticipated report shows dramatic growth; the Māori economic contribution to the New Zealand economy has grown from $17 billion in 2018 to $32 billion in 2023.

The fourth in a series of reports, the insights will inform decision making and collaboration, and will help unlock further potential within the Māori economy.

Te Rau Ora Chief Executive, Riki Nia Nia, describes Ao Maarama as “an interactive mobile app that uses the maramataka and Maaori health frameworks to help build awareness, knowledge, and connection with the rhythms of wellbeing”.
