There were things I said years ago that I no longer stand by today. There were things I did years ago that I don't do anymore. No I am not two faced, I am simply maturing and evolving as I should be, as we all should be. And anyone who holds your past against your present growth is someone who benefits from you staying stuck. They don't want you to change because your evolution makes them uncomfortable about their own stagnation.
But change is the whole point of being alive. The person you were at 20 is supposed to be different from who you are at 30. The beliefs you carried five years ago are supposed to be challenged by the wisdom you gained since then. That's not being fake, that's being human. The only people who never change are the ones too afraid to admit they were ever wrong. So let them call you inconsistent, let them dig up old versions of you, let them compare who you were to who you are. You know the truth, you didn't switch up, you grew up. And growing up will always look like betrayal to people who chose to stay exactly where you left them.
