The kids are still on school break, and SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium in Auckland is the perfect, fun, and family‑friendly place to explore on a rainy day or not. Wander thru the exciting walk-through tunnel as sharks and rays glide overhead, get up close to penguins and graceful turtles, and admire the beautiful glowing jellyfish. It’s an engaging, exciting, and educational visit that brings the magic of the ocean up close.

Don't miss the TSB Festival of Lights at Pukekura Park, New Plymouth. It is truly a magical summer tradition that transforms the park into a glowing wonderland. Running from 20 December 2025 to 24 January 2026, the festival offers free, family‑friendly fun, with dazzling lights and live entertainment for all. The illuminated trails and creative artworks make the park feel enchanting, and the beautiful light show is a highlight for visitors of every age. We had such a wonderful time exploring the park, so make sure to visit the area while the lights are still on. The kids would definitely love it.

We witnessed the Christmas lights display at Kingsdown, Bell Block, New Plymouth and it was absolutely beautiful! The neighbourhood puts on this display every year, and looking forward to seeing it again on our next (Christmas) visit. The kids loved the lights and generosity of the community, and Santa turning up was the perfect bonus!
