As the year closes, I’ve been reflecting on what’s been. Most of my grand plans for the year wound up on ice after a lingering injury kept me from any significant time riding bikes. That said, I’m proud of the time we have spent together and the things we have acheieved this year.
From our end of summer party with .society; to starting our wāhine rides; to our pest-sesh collab ride with .designs; to bikepacking to Muriwai for a weekend of sand, sea, and planting with ; to planting along the banks of Te Auaunga with natives supplied by Pourewa Nursery; there’s a lot to think on fondly. Our whenua gives so much to us, and I’m proud of that this year we’ve given back in a small way.
There are many to thank. Firstly, our friends at for giving us a home and always welcoming us. Of course, thank you to all of the people that have led rides this year: , , , .cc, , , , and . Without you I wouldn’t have the opportunity to take a step back and enjoy what we’ve made. To our man behind the lens, , thank you for capturing our rides. To those who follow from afar and take an interest in our kaupapa, thank you for engaging and encouraging. And finally, to everyone that’s joined us for a spin this year, thank you for helping shape our space and sharing your time.
Instead of thinking on what could have been, I think it’s important to focus on what has been. With that, enjoy some of my favourite moments from this year.
I am manifesting a 2026 that is injury-free and two-wheel abundant. Love to all of you over the holiday season. Catch y’all in January!
