In May of 2024, Maxine Kelly and her brain child, , began their occupation of Ghuznee Street’s Art Stable. In that timespan, they have expanded their tactors, ‘Sourcing Sensuality’ from an evolving selection of curated garments from Aotearoa and beyond. Reinvigorating Pōneke’s feminine playful. UNDERLENA has emerged as a dynamic player in the sartorial realm; never still, always evolving alongside its support base.

We shared an afternoon of open dialogue with Maxine in her verdant Wellington home; meditating on Underlena’s origins, womanhood, the sensual revolution, and hopes for community.

There is a new kid on Pōneke’s gallery block. After a seven-year tenure at Page Gallery, 29-year old Peggy Robinson has cut the ribbon on her eponymous PEG , a decisive contemporary art gallery located in the heritage A.E. Ivin building on 230 Cuba Street. Forward, benevolent, and joyful are all adjectives befitting the space, which harnesses the kinetics of Pōneke’s burgeoning artists with a poised, careful hand. The result is a gallery grounded in artists’ advocacy, toi Māori engagement, and boundless potential.

We sat down with Peggy to discuss all that PEG entails—who Peggy is, her relationship to the arts, and her aspirations for this new venture.

Goodbye Giorgio Armani 💔 long live the Armani suit.

The Armani suit was never just tailoring — it was a cultural shift. In the 90s, it redefined power dressing, softening corporate silhouettes into something fluid, effortless. Armani gave us not only clothes, but a new language of power dressing that moved through film, fashion, and everyday life: American Gi**lo (Richard Gere’s entire wardrobe), Miami Vice (Don Johnson’s pastel tailoring), Goodfellas (mobster glamour sharpened by Armani), The Dark Knight (Bruce Wayne’s quiet billionaire authority), and so many more.

Decades on, the Armani suit isn’t just remembered — it endures. A timeless symbol that carries Giorgio’s vision forward.

last week we wrapped up NZFW with an intimate lunch at Rooftop, joined by a few of our team and creative friends from the industry. A beautiful way to pause, share ideas, and taste the Restaurant Month set menu overlooking Viaduct Harbour.

Thank you for having us!

YANA’S FASHION WEEK DIARY 💟💟

I think I’ve gotten changed in my car more in the past week than I have in my entire life. Attending both New and was an honour and a challenge. I definitely made some mistakes along the way (sacrificing my sanity for a pair of cute heels to complete my outfit being the biggest one), but I also learnt a lot.

I learnt that despite the financial strain on the industry, the people holding it up are as passionate and determined as ever. Every conversation I had filled me with hope and every show I attended left me excited about the future of Aotearoa fashion. This past week has been a celebration and a reminder to support local talent, whether established or emerging.

Here are some snippets of where I went, what caught my eye and what struck a nerve. Full article at the link in bio💋

Last week at NZFW2025 Kahuria 🖤 how good was it to come together as a fashion community and just be there for each other?!

As .liinii put it — this week wasn’t really about the clothes, but what they stand for.

For us at Sauce, fashion in Aotearoa lives in five values: mana, whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, kaitiakitanga & wairuatanga.
