So fantasic to see Spider Games by Brian Falkner still in the bestseller list and great review from Magpies Magazine here, 'A surprise bonus is to be found in the chapter headings, which use, and misuse, titles of spy novels, TV series and films. Young readers who can decode them will find themselves invited into the great fiction world of agents and counteragents, spies and spy-catchers. Spider Games is a worthy addition to this world.'

Yesterday we launched Kiwi Health Heroes by Caitlin Timmer-Arends and Rebecca Waddell, illustrated by So-Young Cho – a fantastic children’s book that journeys through time and discovery, showcasing 29 Kiwi legends who’ve innovated healthcare or overcome battles.

Many of the heroes, including David Letele, attended the event, where he accepted a MOTAT certificate for 15 students. The students, along with David and Rebecca Waddell, will go on a special behind-the-scenes visit to view the Melrose Heart/Lung Machine – which isn’t currently displayed! The experience includes transport, lunch, a book copy and a family pass to MOTAT.

Stunningly illustrated and full of inspiring stories, this is a great read for parents and kids alike. Grab yourself a copy from our website or at bookstores across the motu!

Last night we celebrated the launch and panel discussion of Karina McHardy’s debut book All In – the story of her journey to help her son with additional needs and what we must change to deliver better experiences and outcomes for families in NZ.

Panelists Dr Rebecca Griffith (Neurodevelopmental Paediatric), Tami Harris (CEO, Acorn Neurodiversity), Sharon Shea (MNZM), and Karina McHardy (author and health professional) led an insightful conversation on Celebrating Neurodiversity: From Lived Experience to System Design.

Karina’s book provides support to families confronted by a diagnosis – amplifying voices in the neurodivergent community and offering a message of hope. All In: A Mother’s Journey Through Autism is available on our website or at booksellers across the country.

Many thanks to Deloitte Auckland for hosting this wonderful event.
