Q: Why do some productions ask for talent with "no visible tattoos"?

A: It goes back to The Hangover: Part II. Ed Helms' character ended up with the same tattoo as Mike Tyson — but the original tattoo artist had copyrighted the design and filed a lawsuit. That case changed how productions deal with tattoos: now, they usually require signed tattoo release forms.

There are definitely still opportunities for tattooed talent, but sometimes, to skip the paperwork and avoid legal issues, certain productions prefer to cast people without them.
