Auckland FC will host their first-ever A-League Men Grand Final at home after Sydney FC ended the Newcastle Jets hopes.

With Auckland finishing above Sydney on the regular season ladder, they’ve earned the right to contest for the title in front of their home fans.

The club has confirmed that the Grand Final will be played at Go Media Stadium on Saturday.

A record-breaking year, a first ever A-League Grand Final appearance, and a season that inspired so many. Melbourne were simply too good on the night, but this group has plenty to be proud of.

Big reports coming out of Australia with the Daily Telegraph claiming the Warriors quartet of Mitchell Barnett, Jackson Ford, Wayde Egan & Kurt Capewell have reportedly been told to pack for an extended stay across the ditch after Magic Round in Brisbane.

The expectation is all four are firmly in contention for State of Origin selection for their respective states. Massive recognition for the seasons they’re having and a huge sign of how far this Warriors side has come.

It would be unreal to see a strong Warriors presence in Origin this year 🔥

History made! 🔵⚫️

Auckland FC became the second New Zealand side to reach an A-League Grand Final after the Wellington Phoenix FC Women made the final last week and the first Kiwi club to ever make the A-League Men’s Final.

After the heartbreak of last season’s preliminary final exit, they responded in style this year, defeating Adelaide United 4-1 on aggregate, including a 3-0 win tonight.

They’ll now wait for the result of Newcastle Jets vs Sydney FC to find out who stands between them and A-League glory.

Here’s hoping Sydney can do us a favour and beat Newcastle to lock in a home final at Go Media Stadium

Big reports coming from Danny Weidler from Nine News that Ivan Cleary has told the Penrith Panthers he will leave the club when his contract expires in 2027.

While nothing has officially been confirmed by Cleary or the Panthers yet, the club is expected to hold a press conference later today.

If true, this would mark the end of one of the most successful eras in NRL history.

Team List Tuesday and Coach Webby has thrown a few surprises our way 👀

No Metcalf on the bench or in the reserves and with everything that’s unfolded this week, I guess that’s no real surprise.

Jackson Ford shifts to the bench, is that with a potential Origin selection in mind, or simply a way to manage his minutes during a long season after already playing some big minutes this year.

All I know after a week off I can't wait to see the boys back in action this Sunday, tell us your thoughts 👇
