Favourite moments from the wedding: During the ceremony, our daughter and nieces sat with my parents, repeatedly asking, “When are they going to kiss?” I could hear them from where we were standing and couldn’t help but laugh. And dancing all night to my dad’s band was everything I’d dreamed of, and one of the absolute highlights of the day.

Together Journal met with and photographed Real Fine Studio founder Eliza O’Connor at Claridge’s in London for our latest print feature, during the brand’s recent residency.

In just five years, Australian-born O’Connor has built one of contemporary jewellery’s most compelling names from her Los Angeles base. Real Fine Studio is colourful, tactile and beautifully unexpected, balancing LA polish and cultural energy with an effortless Australian cool.

TJ Real wedding: Laura + Matteo by Victoria van den Hoven

The unexpected rain shower during our outdoor vows could have been a disaster, but instead, it turned into one of the most intimate and unforgettable moments of our lives. Standing close together under a single transparent umbrella while reading our vows to each other felt utterly magical. When the sun broke through the clouds immediately after, the whole crowd streamed out into the gardens to start the celebration – it was an unforgettable transition.

Some weddings you can really feel. This is one of them...

Joshua + Rose by Ceremony by Claud
Everything was done by friends and family; our food was made by our local pizza guy in Tairua, and we had BYO drinks in an outdoor bathtub filled with ice. Our lovely photographer Claudia was a real treat.
We felt married before we were married, as having a child is such a big commitment to each other, but having our daughter there to witness the day and enjoy it with all our friends and family is a special memory.

A chic London city TJ wedding: Elle + James by Elena Popa
Our planning journey was certainly not the conventional one. Other than our date and photographer, which we booked in advance, almost everything was planned and brought together in less than eight weeks! We also really enjoyed getting ready together in the hotel in the morning. It’s quite unconventional but definitely helped to quell the nerves.

The new guard of bridal cool. LVR Bridal has never been interested in playing by the traditional rules of bridal. Founded by friends Jacque Shaw and Lauren Kay Hooper, the brand occupies its own space where weddings, fashion and culture collide. The dresses are only part of the story. There’s jewellery, merch, styling, attitude and a very particular LVR point of view running through it all. We’ve featured their gowns many times over the years and have also called on their incredible eye for styling our own TJ events. Now, a new drop of corsets, skirts and veils joins the Hand in Hand Bridal Collection, and for us, it’s some of their best work yet.

For Together Journal, much of the CLAUDIA LI salon presentation, A Love Letter to New York, spoke directly to the modern bridal and occasion wardrobe. The flowing capes, statement sleeves, crystal embellishments, basque-waist silhouettesand other elevated pieces could translate beautifully into a wedding setting, particularly for a bride who wants fashion to lead rather than convention.
