This is the second Ngāti Kuia Trust tukutuku wānanga we have filmed this year. The first was at the Nelson lakes earlier this year to harvest raupo, this one was at Okiwi Bay harvesting kiekie.

Each opportunity to film these occasions has been an awesome experience!

This was such an awesome wānanga to film 2 weeks ago up at Lake Rotoiti. It is a continuation from last year’s kaupapa where we also captured this same group at Okiwi Bay harvesting Kiekie.

The short film produced from that wānanga eventually won best documentary at the Top of the South Film Fest 2024.

Loud Noise Media has worked on some amazing projects with some amazing people, businesses and organisations throughout 2024.

Here is one of our favourites which was commissioned by the Tasman District Council - Te Kaunihera o te tai o Aorere for International Fish Migration day.

It features some great presenters who all share different stories about te mana o te wai/the health of the waterways, and all demonstrating that they are equally passionate about this kaupapa.

The journey of water, from the mountains to sea: Ki uta ki tai.
