Probably my favorite thing about spring in NZ is watching the cherry blossoms in full bloom. Have you taken any nice pictures with the cherry blossoms?

I have lived in New Zealand for 3 years. I have seen the aurora in New Zealand a few times before, but I had to use a camera or phone to see it. This was the first time I have seen it so bright. The aurora can be seen very clearly with the naked eye, shimmering with many brilliant colors, like a light show at night in the sky. Even though the temperature at that time was very cold (about 5 degrees Celsius), it couldn't stop me from going up the hill to stand under the starry sky and watch the aurora.

𝑻𝑾𝑰𝒁𝑬𝑳
I woke up early at dawn, the sunlight was still very gentle, and dew drops still lingered on the leaves. Not far from where I camped, there were many small lakes. I walked in the morning sunlight around the lake, and my shoes on the grass were wet from last night's dew. In the fresh, cool air, the lake surface was like a mirror reflecting that beauty, allowing me to admire the beautiful reflection. Occasionally, I heard the duck quacks, birdsongs, etc., signaling the start of a new day. A gentle, peaceful morning in Twizel keeps creating unforgettable memories for me.

𝑻𝑾𝑰𝒁𝑬𝑳
How has your autumn been this year?
For me, this autumn has been truly amazing. Previously, I associated fall with the vibrant colors of changing trees in places like Queenstown, Arrowtown, or Cromwell, and I always enjoyed visiting these locations to admire their scenery.

However, this year, my husband suggested a new destination for us to explore during the autumn season: Twizel. Although I had visited a salmon farm in Twizel last January during a trip to Lake Tekapo, my memory of Twizel was primarily of its grasslands and farms along the roadside. Nonetheless, the prospect of discovering new places and enriching our travels with surprises and fun made this option appealing. And so, our journey to Twizel in autumn began.

We traveled directly from Christchurch to Mount Cook before reaching our campsite in Twizel. By the time we arrived, it was already evening, and we followed the instructions on the map without knowing what the scenery would be like. Camping near a small lake in Twizel for the first time turned out to be a wonderful experience. Despite the crowds of tourists in the camping area, under the bright moonlight and crisp autumn air, we enjoyed a warm dinner together before retiring early after a day of exploration.

The next morning, I awoke to a magical sunrise. Amidst the mist and the golden hues of autumn, the calm lake surface mirrored the trees along its shore and the snow-capped mountain peaks. The lake surface was like a mirror reflecting that beauty. It was a sight of unparalleled beauty that stirred my senses and filled me with awe. I realized then that had it not been for our camping trip, I would have missed out on witnessing this beautiful sunrise. Sometimes, experiencing a place firsthand differs greatly from seeing it in pictures. Despite this awareness, I am compelled to capture these moments through videos and photos as a way of preserving them and cherishing the memories.
Autumn in Twizel is wonderful. I wish we had come here earlier. I am very excited and eagerly anticipating experiencing more beautiful moments in the upcoming locations.
