We are so excited to start Term 3 this week ✨

This term is our biggest term so far! We have now opened up Monday afternoons for lessons as our Tuesday-Friday rosters are fully booked and have day time sessions booked for both of our in-house producers to provide Music Intervention sessions, production lessons and recording sessions for tamariki and whānau. We are also providing itinerate vocal lessons at Hillview Christian School and will be building a partnership with Haeata High School.

Grateful for every opportunity that comes our way and cannot wait to see what comes from these new collaborations!

At .chc, we firmly believe that music helps to heal ❤️

Our Music Intervention Program caters to tamariki who are currently in/or have been through the system and are experiencing challenging circumstances.

Many tamariki are separated from whānau and placed within foster care or group housing systems where they face ongoing inconsistencies. From changing housing placements regularly, having low support in school or on-going health issues, these children are doing the best they can.

You may think this problem does not exist in Aotearoa, but it does. Over 1,000 children are within systems such as Oranga Tamariki and in 2023 alone, Oranga Tamariki received 95,000 reports of concern for tamariki.

At .chc, we hope to do our small part by continually creating a safe space for tamariki to come and be themselves, grow in confidence and learn new skills in communication and music.

Each year, over a thousand children under the age of 18 enters systems such as Oranga Tamariki. At Mellow Studio, we care about providing opportunities for tamariki from difficult backgrounds to grow in confidence, build healthy relationships, have consistent mentorship and find expression through music.

This March, we have paired up with BOOSTED x Moana to help whānau access our Music Intervention Program.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to fully fund 10 tamariki through our program at no cost to their whānau!

Each dollar donated will be matched with another dollar from BOOSTED, so no koha is to small! Donate today via the link in our bio and lets see music impact and heal the next generation ❤️

What an incredible day!

Overjoyed to have a fresh space to invite the community to learn, grow and build confidence. Thank you to all the whānau who constantly support this kaupapa 🙏🏽❤️ Mellow is more than music. Our heart is for healing and connection.
