Londo, one of Christchurch’s smallest restaurants, has been a big winner in the 2025 Cuisine Good Food Awards, taking out Casual Restaurant of the Year and awarded One Hat at the hospo industry’s annual accolades fest. “Clever cooking,” was the judges’ verdict on chef-owner Robert Fairs’ fare.

BREAKING: NZ Fashion Week touches down in Ōtautahi.

For the first time in its iconic history, New Zealand Fashion Week is coming to the South Island — and it’s happening right here in Christchurch.

In a bold new partnership with the city, NZFW will stage a special spring/summer edition from 7–9 November 2025, transforming Ōtautahi into a destination for style, storytelling, and cultural expression.

Expect large-scale runway shows, curated retail activations, and the return of the Beyond the Runway speaker series — all spotlighting the best of established and emerging designers from across Aotearoa.

“This is a city that embraces creativity with quiet confidence,” says NZFW owner Feroz Ali. “Ōtautahi is the perfect canvas for this next chapter in Aotearoa fashion.”

Unlike Auckland’s industry-focused week, the Christchurch edition will bring a high-end, consumer-driven experience, designed to reflect the city’s unique energy and innovation.

This marks the first year of a three-year partnership, signalling a new era of regional connection and national style leadership.

Once again the Royal New Zealand Ballet brings the sparkle to the festive season – tonight’s opening of A Midsummer Night’s Dream cast a special spell on the Isaac Theatre Royal. The company, the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, Tracy Grant Lord’s magical set and Kendall Smith’s shimmering lighting reprise a ballet that well deserves its place in the repertoire. Another triumph for our Royal New Zealand Ballet! Choreographer Wayne McGregor's deeply moving work 'Infra' danced to sublime perfection at the Isaac Theatre Royal by our company of national treasures. Also on the 'Solace' programme are new works by Sarah Foster-Sproull and Alice Topp. Two performances tomorrow so still a chance!
