The Howick Club Inc celebrated its 40th Anniversary in March with a week-long series of amazing events! From the official ribbon-cutting to a memorabilia display, a History of the Club talk, a glittering banquet, and an 80’s show featuring The Monroes, members and guests enjoyed a memorable celebration.

Under the leadership of Dawn Mills and GM Steve Flint, the Club continues to thrive with 5–6,000 members, family-focused activities, and solid financial reserves supporting its ongoing growth.

Next year marks a huge milestone for the Rotorua Citizens Club, its 100th birthday! The club has long been at the heart of Rotorua, offering connection, entertainment, and support for over 1,300 members. From fishing competitions and live music to jazz and blues clubs, there’s something for everyone.

Celebrating 100 years is a milestone to be proud of! Whangaroa Sport Fishing Club (Inc), the second oldest fishing club in New Zealand, has been a hub for keen anglers since 1925. With a full fishing competition programme, clubrooms with SKY TV, and a welcoming marina-side atmosphere, there’s plenty for fishers and visitors alike to enjoy.

Long-time Recorder Sandra Moore is retiring this December but will continue sharing the club’s history in an upcoming book. Visitors are always welcome to explore the club’s rich heritage and facilities!

Celebrating 50 years with an event on April 26 couldn’t be sweeter for Manager, Murray Davies because just a few years ago the future of the club was uncertain. The club was then in a place when serious consideration was being given to its closure.

We talk with Murray about how through real determination and a solid team effort across governance, management, and implementing smart strategies such as partnering with Orange Door Music Video they were able to turn things around.

“We’re now sitting at 2,780 members and the trajectory is upward. This tells us we’re doing some things right"
