Kia ora! It’s release week! 🖤✨
I’m feeling incredibly grateful heading into this week. Haere Rā has been two years in the making, and to finally be releasing it during Te Wiki o te Reo Māori feels really special.
I’ve been lucky enough to be asked to speak at a school this week about releasing music, my journey as an independent artist, and releasing waiata during Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori. I’m really looking forward to sharing that kōrero with the kids. 🖤
I’m also heading into Plains Media this week to record an Artist Spotlight, which will be out next week before the Haere Rā music video drops. 🎥✨
A massive mihi to Tahu FM who are having me live on air Thursday morning at 9am for a kōrero. I’m really excited to be giving Tahu FM listeners a special sneak peek of Haere Rā, and letting them play the waiata in full the day before its official release. 🥹🖤
If you want to hear Haere Rā before it drops on Friday, tune in to Tahu FM — 90.5FM in Ōtautahi, or listen online.
Then Friday, Haere Rā is finally out.
I’m so grateful to the NZ Music commission and Music.net.nz, who have both been gracious enough to support the release and will have something up on Friday. A big shout-out to Chris Lynch as well for the exposure and support. ❤️
A huge mihi to Henare Kaa for teaching me do much and Composing the music you are incredible and I'm so greatful to mahi with you
and to Toi Ōtautahi who got me into the Waiata Reo incubator and who continuously support my art
There have been so many people who have been part of this journey over the last two years, and I’m incredibly grateful for every opportunity, every bit of support, and everyone who has helped me bring this waiata into the world.
It feels pretty special to finally be here.
Haere Rā — Friday 18 September. 🖤
