On Wednesday I was lucky to visit this amazing vinyl bar in Auckland and I can't wait to go again. I learned that listening bars originated in Japan many many moons ago and the rest of the world is slowly catching on....

🎶 By day I'm a mental health nurse educator, and I'm fascinated by the way music supports wellbeing, connection and emotional health.

☯️ In recent years I've also discovered the world of sound healing, which has had a really positive impact on my own wellbeing. I'm slowly building a collection of instruments and looking forward to exploring this side of music even more.

Aside from bumping my forehead on a speaker, today was an excellent day for this Sunday vinyl Girl 💃🏼 Emerson's was buzzing all afternoon and BC scored me some new wax at the local record fair 🎶

Picking out tunes for the Taproom today 🍻🎧 It's such a buzz reconnecting with my vinyl collection again after four years of playing mostly digital music 🎶 so far, my strategy is one box of chilled downtempo records and a second box with reggae, soul, funk and hip hop tunes 🎛️🕺🏼 and this makes for a lovely Sunday vibe while people enjoy their kai and excellent beer 🥰

Four weeks into my new residency and I haven't even played Blondie yet 😲 Who even am I at this point??!!! It's been so much fun playing chilled tunes with soul and funk flavors in the Emerson's Taproom, but I might have to find this for Sunday 😍🎧🎶💥💃🏼🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿⚽
