🚨UPDATE: Heavy Rain Warning - Orange

As a precautionary measure, we have now opened a sandbagging station to reassure anyone feeling anxious or worried, following MetService's Heavy Rain Warning for the Dunedin and Clutha region.

Feel free to pop along to the Dunedin Ice Stadium carpark at 101 Victoria Road, St Kilda. Sand, bags and shovels will be available onsite, and you can help yourself as needed.

At this stage, we're not expecting any significant flooding. Our contractors will be on standby throughout the night, ready to respond to any emerging issues, but our network is well placed to cope with what's forecast.

Our advice is to get home, stay warm and dry, and minimise travelling on the roads.

We'll provide any major updates to our social media and website if required.

The New Zealand Retro Weekly Top 40 Countdown is a weekly trip back in time to New Zealand in the 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s. Rob Walker hosts the show which is a countdown of the top 40 songs as they were on the official New Zealand singles charts for the corresponding weekend. It also includes a look at some tracks off some great albums that were on the official New Zealand album charts for that same year and weekend.

It’s 3 – 4 hours of reminiscing and is packed with audio from the artists, as well as a look at New Zealand news & events of that weekend, and because it's our countdown, it of course features some great New Zealand music : OUR CHARTS - - - OUR MUSIC! The charts used are based on the Official New Zealand music charts from Recorded Music New Zealand.

Heard on OVER 40 INDEPENDENT radio stations across the nation – it’s the most syndicated weekly music show on New Zealand Radio – and it is also heard overseas as well!

The New Zealand Retro Weekly Top 40 Countdown with Rob Walker:
Every Sunday afternoon from 2pm,

📱⚠️ This Sunday between 6-7pm, you'll receive an Emergency Mobile Alert, but don't worry, it's just a test! 📱⚠️

An Emergency Mobile Alert is sent when there are serious threats to life, health or property – or in this case, for test purposes.

It can warn you of serious threats such as:
- a tsunami affecting land areas
- a wildfire affecting people, or
- seriously contaminated drinking water.

Whenever you hear the sound, stop what you're doing and read the message. It will tell you what the emergency is, who sent it and what actions to take.

Emergency Mobile Alerts are an extra channel to help keep you safe in an emergency. If you feel unsafe, don’t wait for an official warning - look for any natural warning signs and take immediate action. Find out more information at www.getready.govt.nz/ema
