WEATHER UPDATE #7 โ€“ 9.15AM

Heavy rain has continued overnight, and continues to affect the Dunedin region.

Weโ€™re encouraging you to stay safe and not travel unless necessary. Fewer cars on the road means less disturbance to the water and helps our crews to work more quickly to clear debris.

Thanks to our hard working crews and contractors who have been working through the night to address impacts on roading and stormwater.

We are regularly updating road closures on the DCC website, please check information here: https://www.dunedin.govt.nz/road-conditions

For up-to-date bus information, visit the Orbus website here: https://www.orc.govt.nz/orbus/

Other key information:
โ€ข Our kerbside waste and recycling collection continues today, but there may be delays.
โ€ข Te Puna o Whakaehu (Mosgiel Pool) and Mosgiel Library are closed today.
โ€ข Sandbags are available at two sandbag stations โ€“ Mosgiel Memorial Park gym carpark (entry on Gordon Road) and Dunedin Ice Stadium, Victoria Road, South Dunedin) carpark.
โ€ข Flood protection barriers were installed in Surrey St, South Dunedin, and pumps and pipes in South Dunedin have managed the rainfall to date.

Weโ€™ll continue to share regular updates here and on the DCC website, and our Customer Services team are available on 03 477 4000.
