Do the mahi get the treats
2 years ago I decided to get back in the pighunting game, with the help from he gave me 2 dogs to get me going, I got another dog from the far north off Roscoe Dunn and we had Sheeba who I got off so we had our pack of all sorts hahaha.
Over the next few months was the challenge of getting all these dogs to become one team and it was my job to pull it all together.
We had no private farms to hunt on and where we did go was always after some else had been there so pigs were few and far between and it didn't help when I took a year to do my scuba instructors.
This winter we got our act together applied for permits and started getting the dogs out as much as possible, we started catching little pigs and the kids loved it.The dogs were coming together so it was a matter of time before we were gonna hit the big stuff. Yesterday was that day.
The most satisfying part was not the pig but the journey it took to get there and the excitement in my whanau to see all our hard work had paid off. We celebrated today with the coolest bush walk with our potiki Matakaea to get our pig.
