Exciting news if you have ever wanted to know what goes on in a rehearsal!

In addition to the concert, we are offering two open workshop/rehearsal sessions. They will be in St Paul's Cathedral from 10.00 a.m. - 12.00 p.m. and 1.00 - 3.00 p.m., on Saturday 21st of October.

The workshop/rehearsal sessions allow you to watch the Concert leader of the NZSO work with local string players. They are focussing on how to play in a baroque style on a modern instrument.

There is no cost to attend, so why wouldn't you?!

Have you heard the one about the baritone that must die? You probably have - it’s what usually has to happen. But I don’t think you will have heard it quite like this…

It’s early 2019 (a pre-COVID world before social distancing complicated everyones love lives) and our baritone finds himself trawling the dating sites for someone to make his heart sing. He’s tall, he’s handsome and he’s clever* enough to come up with a plan to set up more than just one date in the hopes of finding himself “the one.”

Things start to go awry when these multiple dates begin to uncover that they have a bit more in common with each other than he had hoped.

With some gorgeous treats from Mozart, Menotti and Donizetti, mixed with some Rodgers and Hammerstein and a few glorious ensembles this will be a show that you won’t want to miss! Stay tuned for more information about our fabulous local cast.

A big thank you to everybody who came to our concert on Saturday afternoon. Wonderful music! Thanks to Olivia Pike, Scott Bezett and Mark Wigglesworth for their fantastic performances. We will see you in the new year with an exciting programme of emerging artists here in Dunedin.
