Happy to help continue the Farra story

The first settlers' ships arrived in Dunedin in 1848, and our little town grew quickly. The Farra Engineering story is almost as long as Dunedin’s commercial history. During the late 1800s three engineering companies, Farra Bros (1863), Dunedin Engineering (1868) and Otago Iron Rolling Mills (1886) eventually all merged to become the Farra of today. One hundred and sixty years on, the descendants of those founding families of the 19th century remain the major shareholders of our privately owned company.

The Farra Headquarters, a 2-story brick building was built in 1923. It’s become a bit of a tradition to redo a photo at that corner location to mark our major milestones. So at the end of last year, we thought we would mark 160 years with repeating the original pic of Team Farra 2023.
