I woke up this morning with my mind going in circles, which reminded me how easy it is to feel like a fraud when I don’t match the “girl boss” persona I see online.

But then I thought about the women who inspire me:
Miranda MacKenzie Aura Wishcraft, Suzanne Horrocks Wellness, Yvette Meyer, Sarah Hagstrom, and Kathleen Cameron.

They’re all so different—different energies, styles, ways of leading and creating.

And that’s the point: there isn’t one way to be a “girl boss.”

My shadow was whispering (rather loudly):
“You don’t belong. You’re too unique.”

But the shadows only have power to hold you back if you let them.
So I dug deep and here’s the truth I found:

- I am a registered business owner, five years strong
- My values—truth, love, creativity, inclusivity—are my compass
- Success isn’t about fitting a mold—it’s about showing up as myself, when my energy dictates it.

This is my reminder to myself (and maybe to you, too):

✨ You don’t have to match anyone else’s energy to have worth
✨ Your way is valid. Their way is valid
✨ Take up space. Own who you are
✨ Reset when you feel down on yourself

Thank you to all those out there who inspire every day

It's so easy to lose yourself in the identity of Mum, especially when you're always working, advocating for your kids, trying to keep a roof over your head, pay all the bills, while still being a partner and an unpaid maid!

The good news is that even if you don't feel like you know who you really are, you've still got magic inside you and loads to offer the world...

I personally can attest to this after having worked on meditation, personal development and advocating for my son's mental health for years and still feeling like something was missing...

It wasn't until I learnt that I wasn't designed to hold my spirit energy in a fixed way (as an identity) that I finally accepted that I was intended to go with the flow and adapt instead....

What are your thoughts on motherhood and identity? Is this something that you've ever struggled with, and how did you deal with it?

After a rather crumby start to the day the other day, I ended up with this alternative meaning to the word 'inspire' running through my head, so here it is.

It's a bit out there, but to me 'inspire' means
"Initiating Spirit Participation In Raising Energy"

You don't have to be a world-leading coach, multimillionaire, Social Media whiz, celebrity or anyone else you think is special to be inspiring.

Let's face it, you've already beaten all odds to be where you are, right here and now. That's inspiring to someone out there, even if you don't recognise it.

No matter who you are, what you do or what your life circumstances are, please remember to celebrate yourself a bit too...

What's one thing that you find inspiring? Let's see all the different types of inspiration out there 👇

Motherhood is full of myths—quiet rules about what you can and can’t want, feel, or achieve once you become “just a mum.”

Here are 5 myths that Human Design and spirituality helped me see through:

Myth 1: Being exhausted every day is normal.
Truth: You’ve been operating from fight-or-flight for so long, your nervous system is fried.

Myth 2: You have to hustle like everyone else to improve life for your kids.
Truth: Operating in alignment with your unique design is more effective than hustling any day. Rested mothers receive more ideas, love, joy, and gratitude—which benefits everyone.

Myth 3: Putting one foot in front of the other is enough. Just work harder.
Truth: Dreaming of more is essential. It opens the door to inspiration and possibility—without hustling yourself into an early grave.

Myth 4: Guilt, anger, and fear are just part of motherhood. You can’t escape them.
Truth: That’s true if you’re operating from a low-frequency set point. But you can raise it—with mindfulness, Human Design, spiritual tools, and great friends.

Myth 5: I’m just a mum. I should be happy with what I’ve got. I don’t have anything else to offer.
Truth: You’re a mum—and so much more. Your unique combination of experience, perspective, and Human Design is needed in the world. Only you can deliver what you’re here to share.
----
For a long time, I was stuck in the fight mentality trap—exhausted, reactive, drowning in emotional drama. Parenting both a neurospicy and a neurotypical teen stretched me in ways I never expected.

But Human Design, spirituality, and mindfulness helped me see the myths clearly. They helped me reclaim faith in myself.

If you’re ready to escape the fight trap, too, follow along. You deserve to dream of a better life. You deserve a team that sees your magic. Yes, you deserve to follow your dreams of more than being 'just a mum'.

And if you ever need someone on your team—I’m here.

Ever stood at school pick-up and felt like you didn’t belong?

Like everyone else has their s**t together — the perfect hair, the calm toddlers playing together sweetly, the easy smiles — and you’re just… standing there wishing you could vanish?

Yep. Been there. Done that.
More times than I can count.

That’s why I made this Reset. 💜
It’s a quick 2 ½ minute breather you can slip into your ears right before (or after) school pick-up — so instead of dreading the cliques and the stares you swear everyone’s giving you, you can walk in grounded, calm, and actually feeling like you.

✨ Watch the Reset free on YouTube here 👉 https://youtu.be/fjYad6UGYtI

Let it carry you through school pick-up today, or any other day you might need it💖

Well it's done! I've been so quiet lately on Facebook and all other social channels because I've been working on something which feels like it could be really important to all mums out there.

I'm officially ready to announce Wholehearted Magic Reset Bytes.

So what are Reset Bytes? Reset bytes are for Mothers who need a little bit of a break in life. Motherhood is a balancing act, no matter what your circumstances are or your child's stage in life.

Reset Bytes aren't meditations - they're simply a short perspective from a friend on situations that you may be facing as a mum. Each free Reset Byte comes with a free printable download to help you reset when things get tough, and an added helper's sheet for your child. So they know if you're not feeling quite right, what they can do to help.

Essentially, they are an on call, virtual hug and help from a friend when you need it, without having to try and schedule it around life's chaos! They are very specific as to the situations that they are created around, but they are generally situations that you could face as a mum, with either a neurodiverse or neurotypical child.

The first couple are live on my site now and I would love to get some honest feedback from you as to whether they help you relax when times are tough as a mum.

My site is https://www.mellissaedney.com

If you do check them out, please let me know if they do help below 👇

😔 Mums, ever feel the fight for your neurodiverse child or teen never ends?
Yesterday, as I mentioned then was particularly rough. I was exhausted homeschooling my 14yo, battling schools, going to work, and relying on my 17yo to help me keep up with everything. The fight mentality trap was snapping tighter around me!

But self-care changed everything—small, real steps to break free! As a result, I'm feeling better today but thought this was a topic worth exploring.

Read my latest blog post if you're after some easy, guilt free, do-able self care tips for our busy lives: https://www.mellissaedney.com/wholeheartedmagic/self-care-when-youre-barely-holding-it-together

What’s your go-to self-care moment? Share below 👇 I'd love to hear any more inspiration that you can add!
