Southampton Stabbing: Bodycam Footage Reveals 18-Year-Old Victim Was Wrongfully Arrested as He Lay Dying after being stabbed multiple times by a sikh man carrying a ceremonial dagger
Newly released police body camera footage has revealed the tragic final moments of 18-year-old Henry Nowak, who repeatedly pleaded with officers that he could not breathe as he was wrongfully arrested after sustaining fatal stab wounds by the sikh man
The teenager was attacked in Southampton city centre by a stranger, Vickrum Digwa, who stabbed the innocent student six times with an eight-inch ceremonial dagger.
During a trial at Southampton Crown Court, it was revealed that Digwa fabricated a story to responding officers to avoid suspicion. He falsely claimed that the teenager had shouted racist abuse, punched him, and knocked off his turban. Acting on this false information, police proceeded to arrest the critically injured victim.
The distressing video footage shows Nowak begging for an ambulance. He informed the officers that he had been stabbed on four separate occasions, only for one officer to dismissively reply, "I don't think you have, mate." As officers pulled the dying teenager along the ground to apply handcuffs, he stated at least seven times that he was unable to breathe.
Tragically, the student died shortly after the wrongful arrest, ultimately drowning in his own blood.
