Believe Them!

When children speak, don’t turn away,
Their truth is not a game to play.
A whispered fear, a tear stained face,
Could be a cry we must embrace.

Too often silence fills the room,
While pain within begins to bloom.
We joke, we laugh, we brush aside,
Not seeing how they hurt inside.

Words can wound as deep as fists,
And leave behind long, darkened lists
Of nights they cried, of hope they lost
And we, not them, must bear that cost.

So hear them out, and take their side,
Don’t let their courage be denied.
Stand up, speak out, protect their flame
Their safety matters more than shame.

For every child deserves to live,
To dream, to grow, to love, forgive.
Believe them now don’t wait too late,
Your choice could shift a child’s fate.
