I am so proud of you all, nga hapū o nga Iwi o ngai Māori. The world is watching with such anticipation and interest in who we are and what our views are. The growth in their interest to associate themselves with us is so prominent and can be seen and heard across the digital spectrum. There are more over seas online influencers sharing, reviewing and listening to kapahaka than there are “New Zealanders”. It is just a matter of time before entire cohorts of indigenous people from around the world start planning Te Matatini into their lives. Finally being acknowledged for the valuable contribution our people offer to this economy, I am so proud to see our Relations in business take the podium at the NZ business summit and share to the world our view here without it being diluted or shared as an add on by Luxon and his govt. As the governments come and go, Prime Ministers are switched out by a simple vote. We as tangata whenua, Māori and Iwi will always remain. The Māori economy is going to boom even more over the next 10 years, a shift from desiring a good job will be turned to expanding or creating business that extends further than our communities, regions and country. This is so exciting, I feel a new wānanga design coming on now 😊😊😊

And just like that, our 3 big girls are all at college together. Pōhiri today at the kura to meet the Kaiako. Whakatāne High school has had some amazing young people come through it over the years including myself 😂😊😂 we’ve had olympians, singers, dancers, world champions and much more. Well well well, look who just finished her first day trial of work today???? And she got the job whānau, our girl is working at the best cafe in Whakatāne Cafe4U on the Strand. She is the newest smiley face and addition to the dream team that serve and support all our hunger needs. Come pop in and say hi when you get a coffee, cold drink and kai. Keeping our rangatahi busy, active, motivated and valued is key to unlocking their potential. Another shout out to the team at the cafe. 2 at mahi now, woooohoooo to us hun

What a beautiful kai here at Wonderful service, relaxing environment, great music and vibe. I had the Kawakawa cream waffles and they were absolutely delicious. Come out check it out for yourselves, they also do a good Matcha frappé and latte.
