It's been a moment between posts and painting. My mother died earlier this month and on the day she died and at her tangi in our garden this duck turned up. Last week my son was needing to put his elderly dog Maggie down and that same duck turned up that morning. I swear the Angel of death visits in duck form. I decided to paint this piece. Long story short, Maggie escaped euthanasia for now, and I added a footnote.
