Yay! Our centre Christmas Party was full of joy and magic! 🎄✨ From an exciting train ride, to delicious ice cream treats, flavourful pizza and the most special moment of all is Santa Claus arriving to give out gifts! 🎅🎁 It truly made our day and filled our hearts with smiles, laughter, and Christmas cheer. What a wonderful way to celebrate together!

This is one of the best intentional teaching experiences I have created this year. Our Christmas Around the World learning experience involved connecting with my fellow ECE teacher friends from the Philippines, Russia, and the USA, who kindly sent video Christmas greetings especially for my Tipu Tamariki.
When the tamariki watched the videos today, they were truly amazed to see and hear children from the other side of the world. It was such a joyful and meaningful moment of global connection. I am incredibly thankful to my friends who made the effort to be part of this experience.
In return, we recorded a short video greeting for them using te reo Māori, saying “Meri Kirihimete nō Aotearoa.”

Christmas Around the World: Filipino Style! 🇵🇭🎄

This week and next, we’re learning about Christmas Around the World, and I shared with our tamariki how Filipinos celebrate Christmas. They loved hearing about our early celebrations and the colourful Parol, the bright star lantern that makes Christmas extra special in the Philippines. ⭐

This is the toddler and preschooler version of a Parol, and wow… how beautiful is it? 😍
