💠 WHAT IS RESTORATIVE YOGA?
✨ Restorative Yoga is a movement practice that allows your body and mind to rest and recharge. Unlike more active forms of yoga that focus on strengthening and stretching, Restorative Yoga emphasises rest and stillness. Gentle poses held for extended periods of time encourage the body to let go of tension and find balance and harmony.
✨Restorative Yoga is a completely passive practice that utilises props to support our bodies in all of the poses to aid in complete relaxation. By relaxing our muscles, lowering our heart rate, and allowing our nervous system to slow down, Restorative Yoga helps us to balance our fast-paced lifestyles. As we find stillness in the pose we allow for healing, both physically and mentally, which ultimately supports us in being more focused and effective. Restorative Yoga is accessible to people of all ages and skill-levels.
💠 WHAT IS YOGA NIDRA?
✨Yoga Nidra literally means "yogic sleep". It is an ancient meditation technique where practitioners enter a deeper state of conscious relaxation, moving awareness from the external world to the internal.
✨Yogic sleep brings us to a state of deep relaxation, verging on sleep, where our senses, intellect, and mind can completely let go and rest. In this dreamless sleep, we are free from the concepts of time, space and reason. When this happens, brain activity reduces and the body goes into a healing state, removing toxins at a cellular level, refreshing the mind, and eliminating emotional baggage from the subconscious.
✨Yoga Nidra allows you to access delta brainwaves, which are responsible for the healing and restoration that happens in your body during deep sleep. Activating delta brainwaves during Yoga Nidra allows your mind and body to rest while you're awake. Yoga Nidra also activates the pineal gland.
✨The pineal gland has been described as the “Seat of the Soul” and is located in the center of the brain. Also known as the third eye, it is a revered tool of mystics and considered to be the organ of supreme universal connection. The third eye chakra is connected to clarity, concentration, imagination and intuition.
