Positively Eastbourne was created as part of a project to create a community station (streaming) - with the intention of also broadcasting on FM as part of a community resilience project. The system behind the Positivity Radio was closed, so this is now obsolete - but the rest of the project continues. Serious weather for Eastbourne. Stay at home, check with your neighbors especially the vulnerable, and be ready for power cuts.

The predicted southerly swell forecast may cause wave inundation along the eastern bays as far as Pencarrow Head, Seaview (from Seaview Rd toward the sea and Te Awa Kairangi Hutt River), and potentially the length of the Esplanade, Petone.

At 7pm council will reduce the road to one lane at pinch points in Lowry Bay, clean the road and monitor, as well as cleaning the road from Pt Howard to end of Days Bay and Muritai Road from Tawa Street to Burdan’s gate. Regular checks will be made in Port Road and the Esplanade and monitored as required.

Please stay safe when out on the roads; this weather is expected to last until 10am tomorrow.
