Who's going to this?
Brewtown is a gem for the Hutt valley and for Wellington. An awesome venue with the best management around, these guys hospitality is nearly as good as ours. Nearly! 🤟

Anyway get along to this gig if you get the chance, to see these two awesome bands at this fantastic venue. Right here in our hometown!

UV RAVES INVASION - Umbria, live at HiViZ JamZ

🛸 Introducing: UMBRIA 🛸
Umbria is the drum and bass project of Wellington-based musician Josh Mason.

After graduating from Otago University’s music program in 2016, Mason spent the ensuing years experimenting with edm production. But it wasn’t until the 2020 covid lockdowns, with their serendipitous space for reflection and focus, that a clear sonic vision emerged. This crystallized in Spellbound (2021), an EP that blended the weight of neurofunk with the melodic textures of guitar and piano—an extension of Mason’s roots in metal bands and acoustic songwriting.

Since then, Umbria has continued to explore this balance of heaviness and melody across singles and EPs, including Empathogen, with its driving dancefloor title track, and the darker, dissonant 'Jam Law'

This coming Saturday we were supposed to have Sinner Man Saint performing here at HiVizJamz.
Unfortunately the Drummer, Paul Norris passed away on Monday.
Paul was also a friend of ours, who attended many of the late night jams here and we had some great laughs together and played some fantastic music.

We are really gutted and our thoughts and prayers go out to Paul's family and friends who will all be in shock with the devastating news

With regards to the event, there will be refunds, but please let us know if you would prefer your refund to go as a donation towards Paul's Family.

Also there will be an event here still on Saturday night, but it will be a get together for those that knew Paul well and want to make a contribution towards his family. If you are interested in coming please DM us as there will be a limit on the numbers.

RIP Paulie! You were a good bloke and you will be missed by many many people.

On Monday we lost our beloved drummer Paul

He's gone on to the great gig in the sky... We played a couple of covers gigs on the weekend. Paul turned up with his four skins and his clangers, a new striped shirt, ate his vegetables and rocked his arse off!!

We had yet another great time together and he's gone out on a high note..

Paul has done himself proud with the effort he put into his music with his band mates... we pushed him in his abilities, made him dig deeper, he rose to the occasion and through his personal challenges.... as a group we made music together.

Paul was all heart... and his heart was in his family his friends, his music and a very hard worker as builder...

There will be stories told for years to come about this larger than life one of a kind scallywag...Paul Norris

We love you brother Pauly and we are so sorry that this untimely event has occurred. We had more to talk about, more riffs and melodies in store for you but now you will have to help us from above with help from the likes of John Bonham, Ginger Baker and Nearl Peart.......

You will be greatly missed by your band mates, Dean Polyanszky, Liam Dollimore and Blair Ramsey
