The winning station that receives the most votes will be presented with TE TOHU MANU KERERŪ - THE IWI RADIO PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD on 18/10/2025 at the 2025 IWI RADIO AWARDS, which will be livestreamed through Whakaata Māori and available on Iwi Radio social media platforms from 6pm.

⚠️⛈️ HEAVY RAIN WARNING – TARARUA RANGE ⛈️⚠️

The Heavy Rain Warning for the Tararua Ranges is still in place between 9am until 8pm Sunday, 12 October. Expect 70 – 90 mm of rain in addition to what has already fallen, with peak rates of 15 – 25 mm per hour.

A significant burst of rain during Monday afternoon and evening is expected to generate another Warning or Watch – we'll keep you posted on further updates.

⚠️ Heavy rain may cause streams and rivers to rise rapidly. Surface flooding and slips are also possible and driving conditions may be hazardous.
👉 Take extra care on the roads.
👉 Clear stormwater drains to help prevent surface flooding.

Note that there is also a Strong Wind Watch in place for Wellington, Wairarapa and the Tararua District from 9am until 1pm Sunday, 12 October.

Talented Rangatahi who have been touring throughout Aotearoa sheding light to su***de awareness with a Toi Whakaari called ‘Where there’s smoke’.

Come along and be moved by the courage and mana of these Rangatahi and kaimahi at Toi Matarua. Nau mai!
