We had the pleasure of attending the world premier of Caterpillar on Wednesday night. Coming to cinemas nationwide from 14th May.

We had the pleasure of have Miss Caterpillar Productions based at Avalon for their shoot, as always a pleasure.

Three woman living under the same roof but leading separate lives are thrust into a journey of love, loss and transformation when with grandmother's mind begins to betray her.

Last year we had the pleasure of hosting Little Library Productions in the making of Mr Hugo's Little Library a kids/preschool children's programme. This is now showing on TV2 on a Sunday at 8am or TVNZ+.

Mr Hugo utilised Studios 10 & 11 and the workshop which was full of feathers, sparkles and a lot of books!!

What a fantastic turn out on Sunday 1 June 2025 for the 50 years of Avalon celebration, so good to see so many faces from the past. Well done to the organising committee and we hope everyone who attended enjoyed the afternoon.

It is with sadness that we learnt of the passing of Ray Thompson founder of Cloud 9 Screen Entertainment. Ray came to New Zealand back in the late 1990's to set up Cloud 9 and produce the Enid Blyton Adventure Series along with The Tribe and a range of other Children's TV. Ray made a significant impact to the Wellington region with his TV production activities and connections and continued to manage Cloud 9 and its extensive library of content until recent times.

Ray was a respected friend and colleague to many in the industry and particularly those at Avalon Studios that worked alongside him and the Cloud 9 team.

Ray was always a fantastic host at Tirohana Estate Winery and we always enjoyed catching up. Our sympathies to his family.

Beloved, respected and cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, confidante, mentor, motivator, inspiration and guiding light, Ray passed away suddenly but peacefully in his sleep in Australia on January 15th, 2025.
