FRAMED BY PASTURE AND SEA

Set on an expansive rural site in Mangawhai, this beautifully considered home by Studio John Irving captures sweeping views across rolling pasture to the distant Hen and Chicken Islands.

Designed to feel deeply connected to both coast and countryside, the home unfolds gradually through native planting, opening into light-filled living spaces, framed views and peaceful pavilion-style architecture.

Weathered cedar cladding, lush landscaping, generous outdoor living and a strong connection to nature create a calm and enduring retreat perfectly suited to its surroundings.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mums, grandmothers and mother figures in our community 🤍

If you’re looking for a beautiful way to spend the day, take a scenic drive to historic Puhoi and enjoy a Mother’s Day outing to Puhoi Farmhouse — open today from 10am–2pm.

The gardens are full of seasonal activity, with spring seedlings being sown, bulbs beginning to emerge, fresh artworks on display and beautiful printed cards available — a thoughtful gift that lasts long after Mother’s Day.

Enjoy tea and biscuits in the barn kitchen, wander through the gardens and soak up the peaceful atmosphere 🌿

Afterwards, make a day of it with lunch and live music at the Puhoi Pub, fish and chips from the Puhoi General Store or Devonshire tea from Puhoi Cottage Tea Rooms ✨
