And I’m back! Even though you might not have noticed I was gone… Winter was brutal, running a business is tough, and the most challenging part about a passion project is just that – the passion. When you love what you do, it’s easy to fall into self-critique: This person is more skilled, that person understands their brand better, this other person has more clients... Silencing that inner dialogue is no easy task.
My winter break, though unexpected, was exactly what I needed. Now, as I dive into a new role as a marketing executive, I’m rediscovering what I love about marketing. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that I don’t need to have it all figured out. Instead of worrying about perfectly defining my niche, I’m focusing on the opportunities that come my way and being open to saying, “I haven’t done this before, but I’d love to try.”
As a business owner, feeling pressured to know everything is easy. Letting that consume you is easy. But life, as I’m learning, is about the hard stuff, trial and error. No, I don’t have a rigid “brand offering” yet – social media is so broad, and I plan to keep evolving my objectives, goals, and offerings. Growth isn’t about getting it right every time, and that’s okay – that’s what keeps it interesting.
So, I guess I’m here to say that I’m back! If you’re looking for a fresh approach to marketing or social media, reach out. I may not have done it before, but I’d love to try 😉
