Open for breakfast and lunch the cafe offers separate Breakfast, Lunch and Gluten Free Menus with another Blackboard Lunch Menu (changing daily) 6 days a week. With an extensive cabinet display we offer good old fashioned home-style baking that includes a salad bar. Established 10 years ago on the main road we moved 3 years ago to a little known backstreet and have shown each year extraordinary growth. Cafe Ahuriri is now the hub of the community with an unusually wide customer base catering for large family groups, office workers, business people and the elderly. Known for supporting "Good Causes" the cafe gets tremendous customer support for all its fundraising ventures from raising money for locals who are ill and community groups in need to national efforts such as the Pike River Miners and Christchurch Earthquake Fund. The Cafe has 18 staff and is constantly developing training programmes to national standards. Three staff havr recently qualified as H.S.I. Trainers and Assessors so now staff can get National Qualifications without cost.
