Before the main event at this year's NZ Southeby's International Realty Nelson Opera in the Park, the pre-concert entertainment features a local up-and-coming band formed by good friends who love playing music together -
The group features five vocalists—Lydia Stallard, Rachel Pemberton, Emily Wragg, Susy Peddie and Evie Rainey—and guitarist Dunstan Blay.
Their sound blends folk, classic tunes, contemporary hits and original songs, interwoven with lush harmonies, violin and the occasional tambourine.
Inspired by artists like Kate Bush, Dolly Parton and Billie Eilish, Midnight Swim brings a fresh, folky twist to each piece.
For the 2025 Opera in the Park, Midnight Swim will be joined by Dan Rainey on bass and Elijah Burton on drums.

That’s a wrap on Nelson Arts Fest! Here we are in the middle of The Mask Carnivale Street Fest watching our talented friends ! Photo by . With custom made Bunting on display in the background which was the brainchild of as a homage to Cuba D**a- made super special by at - so colourful and rainbow vibes which was a good fit for the rest of the Décor! This song has been my mantra ever since it was released so I thought it was a good fit for this snap!

Liss in concentration mode, shooting video for Pride Wairau as part of our next pilot episode for our mini doco series "Pride Te Tauihu". This Day was super special with amazing speeches from Chlöe Swarbrick Nadine Taylor and two of the inspiring Pride Wairau organisers Jesse and Briar. We think 200-250 punters showed up, its was 7am and raining, a huge milestone for Pride visibility in Te Tauihu. Thanks for having us!

Mānawatia a Matariki. This is our latest collaboration we have been finessing in the studio. It’s the 10th episode of this magical Web series that has spanned 4 years and was our first kaupapa back from Rārana so holds a special place in our hearts. Always a treat working with New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and the brilliant talent they bring on like Pere Wihongi. Ngā mihi nui to all involved! Enjoy this beautiful puka puka x
