So, this is not something I usually write about. However, I thought this was important to share. Why? Because there is so little information on something so important and so widely used. So yeah. I'm a little bit uncomfortable (or change that to very), but I think it's important to have this conversation.

If this posts helps one other woman/girl out there, then it was worth it. Because I would have been so glad to read this - I was so grateful for the few woman who did dare to share, but there's almost no information on this topic and that's why I'm adding my own experience. Because the next person who wants to know more about this, will know have one extra experience to read about.

Why am I sharing this personal information with the world, you might wonder? Well… because when I looked for information online, I barely found anything about this. Which is kinda weird, since sooo many women are using hormonal anticonception. All information should be out there and accessible. An...

Since we are all at home now - we have time to upgrade our travel essentials! I listed up how I try to travel with more respect to our environment and added my favourite ecofriendly backpackitems!

I hope everyone is doing well

We all know that the choice to travel, has a big impact on the environment. I think, these days it’s impossible to turn an eye on the impact we make when we decide to fly somewhere. That’s why I started to think of different ways to lessen the big impact I already make. I made …

UPDATE: Because of the circumstances with the Coronavirus, we decided it was best to head home. We preferred a lockdown in Belgium over one in New Zealand since it would be very expensive for us to rent an Airbnb there and then we would not know when we would be able to come home.
It is with great disappointment that we quit the Te Araroa trail and that we hit the pause button on our year around the world... We'll see how everything plays out!

In the meantime - my latest blogpost about our worldtrip (posted before the chaos of the virus started).

The clearest natural water in the world. And how stunning it was. Something I can check off my bucketlist - it wasn’t even on there; so awesome to discover things you don’t expect.

Cambodia, what a country! I loved everything about our trip there! Phnom Penh is a beautiful city, what I liked most where the street food restaurants all around where the locals eat, the Boeddhist temples, big and small, to be seen everywhere and the evenings... when the (burning) sun sets, the city comes alive and everyone seems to be outside.

We celebrated the New Year here! It was a bit weird without friends and family, but it was definitely a special experience to count down on a beach on a tropical island! We spent our days relaxing, swimming and snorkling on Koh Rong Samloen and it was perfect!

Hope I was able to capture all this and share the feeling with you!

A second vlog about Cambodia will follow, where we'll visit the world wonder Angkor, bike around in the countryside of Battambang and learn to cook a few typical Khmer dishes!

Nepal, a country that stole my heart for many reasons. We started the Manaslu trek but had quite some challenges on the way... We celebrated Christmas here! First time celebrating the holidays abroad - but we celebrated in the best company and honestly it was the best Christmas I had! One I'll never forget.

I hope that in the vlog you can enjoy the beauty of this country together with us!

We started the Manaslu trekking but weren't able to finish because the weather on top was too bad, so all the lodges were closed - so that (and a combination...

One of the best places in the world for a trekking in the mountains, is Nepal. After three trekkings in the Himalaya's, I learned a few things - here are the things I wish I had known on my first trek! I hope they can make your trekking more comfortable! :) enjooooy!

Nepal, a wonderful country, with the loveliest people and the beautiful Himalaya mountains. There’s many reasons to visit this country, but the most popular one is definitely to trek. There are so many beautiful treks to choose from and I honestly think that you can’t go wrong since the Himalaya...

Finally, the last China vlog is here! We enjoyed our last days soooo much! We walked around in a foggy and mysterious Zhangjiajie National Park and had the luck to see the wonderful views on the day we left when the sun came through! In Yangshuo, we slept in and felt completely relaxed biking through the wonderful scenery.

China is such a fascinating and beautiful country with many cultural differences. These are some of the things I noticed about China and the Chinese people. Facts, habits and simply what I saw... from a child peeing in a plastic bag, people carrying around thermos bottles everywhere, the love for their own country to the lovely gatherings of people dancing or playing games in public spaces.

China is a fascinating country, in my opinion. It has a rich cultural history with so many different chapters. All of it still influencing on how the ‘land of the middle’ functions today. The country and its habits seem as intricate as its past. China often seems to be an entity on it’s own, n...
