Another song by Norm released. We started with a guitar track and built it off that. Making the instrumentation suit the song is a lot of trial and error with input from the artist.

As Im working with the Rock The City bands I reflect on the importance of proper preparation. Knowing the transitions, understanding the tools on stage, power of non verbal communication, using space to connect with the audience.

Big shoutout to Shenae! Great promotion hustle! Sometimes new artists think once the recording is finished all you do is wait for the royalties or plays to come in. While that might be true for an established artist who has a hungry fanbase, when you’re starting out you are literally winning your audience one fan at a time. People do like to support someone who is doing the work. Believe in yourself and you’ll find it’s rather infectious:)

9 years ago I built Hummingbird Recording Studio. One of the best things I’ve done. I’ve enjoyed learning, teaching and helping many others shape sing ideas into magic recordings. Modern technology has improved so much in that time aswell as my skills and philosophy around songwriting. Feeling grateful for this space.

Happy to share this new track made in the studio called "Looking South" by Norm Lovelock. Norm played Ukulele and sang. Great songwriting and it paints a picture of what it might have been like in the old West Coast Goldrush days.

Very proud to share Shenae's second single "New Jersey Summer" we had fun working on this in the studio.

It's a very well written song and as soon as she played it on her acoustic guitar I could hear some ideas instantly - which is always a good sign of a great song. Enjoy and give her a follow!
