문법 GRAMMAR-지요? ‘-지요?’는 동사, 형용사에 붙여 말하는 사람이 알고 있는 일을 듣는 사람도 알고 있다고 생각하면서 그 일에 대하 여 확인하거나 동의를 구할 때 사용한다. ‘-지요?’ is attached to verbs and adjectives when the speaker assumes that the listener also knows the information but is seeking confirmation or agreement. 예 매운 음식을 좋아하지요? 한국은 겨울에 춥지요? 가 : 아궁 씨 생일이 내일이지요? 나 : 아니요, 토요일이에요.
※ 말할 때는 ‘-죠?’와 같은 축약 형태로 사용할 수 있다. In conversation, it can be shortened to ‘-죠?’. 예 등기 우편으로 보내면 내일 도착하죠?

다 라: 네, 그런데 우편 요금이 얼마예요? Yes. By the way, how much is the postage?
직 원: 무게가 4kg이니까 일반 항공 우편으로 보내면 27,000원이고 EMS로 보내면 34,000원이에요. It weighs 4kg, so it’s 27,000 KRW by regular air mail and 34,000 KRW by EMS.
다 라: 그럼 EMS로 보내 주세요. Then please send it by EMS.

한국의 우체국 서비스 Korean Postal Services
우체국은 다른 사람에게 편지나 문서, 소포 등을 보낼 때 이용하는 곳입니다. 외국에 물건을 보낼 때는 국제 특급 우편 서비스인 EMS(Express Mail Service)를 이용하면 편리합니다. EMS로 우편물을 보내면 빠르고 안전하게 받는 사람에게 전달할 수 있으며, 온라인에서 실시간으로 배달 상황을 조회할 수 있어 좋습니다. The post office is a place you use to send others letters, documents, packages, etc., to others. When sending items abroad, it’s convenient to use EMS (Express Mail Service), an international express mail service. With EMS, you can send your mail quickly and safely, and it's great that you can track its delivery status online in real time. EMS나 국제 소포(항공편, 선편)로는 편지, 책, 옷, 화장품 등을 보낼 수 있지만 음식, 약, 현금 등은 보낼 수 없습 니다. 물론 동식물이나 인화성 물질, 폭발물 등도 보낼 수 없습니다. Through EMS or international parcel services (airmail, surface mail), you can send letters, books, clothes, cosmetics, etc., but not food, medicine, cash, etc. Of course, you also can’t send things that are alive, flammable materials, explosives, etc. 국내에서 중요한 문서나 고가의 물품 등을 보낼 때는 수령 확인 서비스를 제공하는 등기로 보내면 보다 안전합니 다. 우편물을 등기로 보내면 받은 사람이 수령 후 서명을 하게 되어 있기 때문에 보낸 사람이 수령 사실을 확인할 수 있습니다. When sending important documents or expensive items within Korea, it’s safer to send them by registered mail, which provides a receipt confirmation service. With registered mail, the recipient must sign upon receiving the item, allowing the sender to confirm receipt. 한편, 한국의 우체국은 우편물 서비스 외에 간단한 은행 서비스도 제공합니다. 우체국에서도 은행과 같이 계좌를 개설하거나, 보험이나 적금에 가입할 수도 있고 공과금을 납부할 수도 있습니다. Additionally, Korean post offices offer basic banking services. Similar to what a bank offers, you can open an account, sign up for insurance and installment savings plans, and pay utility bills.
