I know this isn’t my usual post, but I’m angry.
I’m so f*ckin angry.

In a world with Ubers, taxis, sober drivers, and couches to crash on,
people are still getting behind the wheel drunk.
Still risking lives that don’t belong to them.
Still acting like it’s no big deal… Until it is.

I’m blessed as hell that someone I love is still be here today,
but don’t get it twisted, I’m raging.
Because someone else might not be so lucky.

Just now I seen a video of some idiot near Waitara up on the guardrail, this was only hours after another two crashes between Ngāmotu and Waitara last night. SERIOUSLY.

If this post makes you uncomfortable, good.
Sit with it.
Because if you’re still drinking and driving in this day and age,
you’re part of the f*cking problem.

💸 KAI ON A DIME 💸
Bean Nachos – Cheap feeds, big flavours.

No mince, no stress. This is the lazy day lifesaver that still tastes like a treat.

🛒 INGREDIENTS:
• 1 onion, diced
• 2 garlic cloves, minced
• 1 cup mushrooms, diced
• 1 tin Mexican bean mix
• 1 tin black beans (rinsed)
• 1 tin chopped tomatoes
• 1 nacho spice sachet
• Extra paprika (smoked if you’ve got it)
• Coriander (fresh or dried)

🍽️ HOW TO MAKE IT:
1. Cook onion + garlic in oil until soft.
2. Add both tins of beans + tomatoes.
3. Stir in nacho mix, paprika + coriander. Simmer 10–15 mins.
4. Taste test – adjust seasoning if needed.
5. Serve over corn chips. Load it up with cheese, sour cream, avo – whatever you’ve got!

✨ Use what you have. Skip what you don’t. This feed’s flexible.

Feeds 4–5. Whānau-friendly and super satisfying.

💸 KAI ON A DIME 💸
Lentil Spag Bol – Hearty, Cheap, Yum.

No meat, no worries. This feeds the whānau and fills the puku.

🛒 INGREDIENTS:
• 1 onion, diced
• 2 garlic cloves, minced
• 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
• 1 capsicum, diced
• 1 tin lentils (or 1 cup cooked)
• 1 can chopped tomatoes
• 1 jar pasta sauce (or another tin of tomatoes + herbs)
• Spaghetti pasta (enough for your crew)
• Salt, pepper, herbs to taste
• Grated Cheese

🍽️ HOW TO MAKE IT:
1. Sauté onion + garlic in a splash of oil until soft.
2. Add mushrooms + capsicum. Cook for 5 mins.
3. Stir in lentils, tomatoes + pasta sauce. Simmer for 10–15 mins.
4. Meanwhile, boil your spaghetti. Drain.
5. Taste and season. Serve it up hot, maybe with a sprinkle of cheese if ya got some. 🧀

Feeds 4–6 easy. Cheap, cheerful, and packed with goodness.



✨ Tip: Add a pinch of sugar to balance the tomatoes. Got spinach? Chuck it in at the end.

Some seasons are messy.
For me, this is one of those seasons.
Some mornings start with self-doubt instead of sunshine.
Some days I’m proud of myself just for getting out of bed.

And that’s okay.
Healing isn’t always graceful, sometimes it’s crying in the car, or starting over again on a Tuesday.
But even then, even when I feel like I’m standing still, I’m still becoming.

Be gentle with yourself.
Growth doesn’t always look like forward motion,
sometimes it looks like standing still long enough to find your breath again.

You don’t have to bloom loudly to be valid.
You’re doing better than you think 🌿
