Anointed hands may build the kingdom, but only a rooted heart can carry the crown. Saul was anointed, but David was a man after God’s own heart.
Anointing is a gift from God, but our character is our response to God. Anointing is what God places on us to do great works by serving others, but character is what we place before God.
Therefore, anointing can build platforms, gather crowds, and even lead nations — but our character is what qualifies us before God.
“Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ Matthew 7:22-23 NIV
▪️ Yes, our gifts can still work but it won’t qualify us before the throne. Jesus’ response shows that relationship, not performance, is what matters.
“If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:2 NIV
▪️ You can speak for God, understand profound truths, and demonstrate miraculous power...But if your character lacks love — if your actions are not rooted in compassion, humility, and selflessness — it amounts to nothing.
Who you are is more important than what you can do.
“Anointed hands may build the kingdom, but only a rooted heart can carry the crown. PS
