Life before death 🌿💫

Preparing for the end of life doesn’t mean giving up, it means honouring what’s come before and what will remain after. It’s a chance to share your stories, your aroha, your legacy.

In our tikanga, death is not the end. It’s a transition, a return. And when we face it together, with aroha and openness, it can be one of the most powerful, beautiful times we ever live through.

I had the privilege of helping edit this deeply meaningful kaupapa, and it’s beautiful to see it rise and take its place in the world 🌎 reaching into new realms, guided by wairua, helping whānau who could be navigating similar situations✨💫🤝

Booked over the weekend to capture the kōrero of my whānau, the essence of our whenua, and the wairua of our awa. 🌿🌱💫

One of the greatest blessings in this mahi is nurturing the stories that surface ā wairua, ā tinana, ā ngākau.

When asked to capture the taiāo I don’t come as my normal self. I first need to immerse myself to swim, to feel the awa within, to align my being with the natural flow of the world around me. Only then could I truly see and capture its essence. A ritual, a practice I’ve always done.

Here’s a glimpse into the world of a Māori wahine, deeply grounded in her essence, moving with intention and resilience. Through her lens, she captures more than just moments, she preserves her home, her heart, with mana and mauri.

Every frame holds a legacy, every story is a tāonga that will forever be priceless 🌿
