We worked with WCC and Tarkanaki Whānui to create the narrative for the mouri stone of Tākina, the Wellington Exhibition and Convention Centre. Mouri is the life force of all things in the physical world. It can be concentrated into special stones, which are often placed in a new building to energise the space and people in it.

The story of Ngake and Whātaitai is part of the interpretive sign project we're doing on Matairangi | Mount Victoria with Wellington City Council. To help tell the story, we're using images of the two taniwha from a carving on Matiu in Wellington Harbour. The carving is the waharoa, or gateway, to the island. Here's a sneak peek at part of the design. This image shows Ngake.

Matairangi | Mount Victoria in Wellington wasn't always covered in trees. Until the late 1800s, it was pretty much bare. Our latest project includes the story of how the forest returned to its hillsides. This photo shows Matairangi in about 1860.

We're working with Wellington City Council on an interpretive signage project for Matairangi | Mount Victoria. It's going to be installed on this patch of grass, near the summit. Watch this space. You can see of our other work just on the left of one of the photos - the cut-down pole with the sign on it is part of the Matairangi Nature Trail.

We collaborated with Taranaki Whānui and Wellington City Council to create these panels for the Ākau Tangi Sports Centre in Kilbirnie, Wellington. One side the panels is about the meaning of 'ākau tangi' and the other side tells the story of Ngake and Whātaitai, the two supernatural forces that shaped the landscape around Te Whanganui-a-Tara.

We worked with Wellington City Council to create story panels for the Matairangi Nature Trail extension. We're especially proud of the panels based on mātauranga and kōrero Māori. The artwork for these panels was done by Isobel Joy Te Aho-White, who also worked with us on He P**i Taonga i a Māui.

Pukehuia Park was opened with a beautiful ceremony at dawn, mid-winter. The karakia was by Kura Moeahu who also led the people around the park as the sun rose.

Part of our work on the Pukehuia Park upgrade has been creating bilingual signs for some of the native plants being planted in the park. Here's a sneak peak at one of them. Our 'bullet point' approach for these signs is uncommon, but it's a good way to get across information quickly, and it's easy to read.
