What a fantastic night at the New Zealand Radio and Podcast awards for 2025!
A massive congratulations to our friends at Radio Tarana!!
Robert and his team have rightly been awarded this category, that is the first year this category has been opened (about time too!!) so we are looking forward to more entries next year!
Also, 44 years 2XS has been around in some way or another and we are only just getting started!
The original frequency may have become networked, renamed and has no local control, but the spirit and drive of 2XS always remains!!
That’s what makes us stand out!

A heads-up from the Manawatu Jazz and Blues festival, Saturday night's Gala Event is Sold Out. The only chance to hear international guest guitarist Karl Verheyen is tonight (Thurs 29 May) when he appears with Kevin Downing's 101 Lab Band at 5 and again at 8pm.

Just re-lived an experience from 48 years ago, The 1860 Band playing neo-fusion jazz as part of the Manawatu Jazz and Blues Festival at The Globe Theatre.
High Society Swingers play Thursday, as does Kevin Downing's 101 Lab Band who play at 5 and 8 on the same night. The Gala event on Saturday is sold out, so this is now your only opportunity to hear Guest guitarist Karl Verheyen
Laura Collins playing on Blues Night Friday, the venue is licenced so have a great night out

No doubt it will come as "no surprise" to you, our dedicated fans, so to keep you up to date, 2XS FM has been announced as a Finalist as the Independent Station of the Year at the annual NZ Radio Awards.
We're in some good company, which shows the breadth of radio talent available outside of the networked offerings.
