šŸ Speedway Gladiators – Season 4 is just around the corner! šŸ

After yesterday’s personal post, I wanted to share something I’m genuinely excited about.

Although I’m currently focused on the next steps in my health journey, my passion for Speedway Gladiators remains as strong as ever. Last year I put together the very first Speedway Gladiators sponsorship proposal, and as we prepare for Season 4, it’s still available for anyone who would like to be part of the journey.

When people hear the word sponsorship, they often think it has to involve money. It doesn’t.

There are many ways to support Speedway Gladiators. You might like to sponsor part of the show, provide products or services, help with production, learn new video production skills, or even have a go presenting or appearing in front of the camera. One of the things I enjoy most is sharing knowledge and helping others grow their confidence and develop new skills.

People often ask what a Media Arts degree has to do with speedway. The answer is storytelling. My degree focused heavily on post-production, editing and the art of telling a story. Anyone can record a race, but bringing together the pictures, interviews, music and emotion into a story that connects with people is where the creativity lies. Over the last few years I’ve also stepped behind the camera, giving me an appreciation of every stage of the production process.

Over the past three seasons we’ve produced more than 50 online magazine-style episodes, each around 30 minutes long. Speedway Gladiators has always been driven by passion rather than profit.

Every episode combines highlights from the previous meeting, interviews with drivers and personalities, and a look ahead to the next event to build excitement for what’s coming. Rather than simply showing race footage, the aim is to tell the stories behind the sport—the people, the rivalries, the emotion and the moments that often don’t make the livestream.

One piece of advice from one of my earliest supporters has stayed with me ever since:

ā€œIf you’re going to produce a show, make it punchy, short, sharp and informative.ā€

That philosophy still guides every episode today. Speedway Gladiators is designed for the lifelong speedway fan, while also making the sport accessible to someone watching for the very first time. If we can introduce new people to speedway while giving existing fans something they genuinely enjoy, then we’ve achieved exactly what we set out to do.

If you’ve ever thought about getting involved—whether as a sponsor, volunteer, contributor, supporter, or someone wanting to learn more about video production, editing or presenting—I would love to hear from you. Every contribution, whether it’s time, expertise, products, services or financial support, helps us continue telling the stories that make our sport so special.

Here’s to another exciting season of Speedway Gladiators. I can’t wait to share Season 4 with you all. šŸ

The final award from the awards coverage is the Robertson Prestige International Speedway Competitor of the Year, which this season went to the Sidecar team of 8p Rob Miller and Jaxon Hannan from 8p Sidecar NZ after a stellar 2025/2026 season.

Their results throughout the season included:

• 1st North Island Champs – Meeanee
• 1st NZGP Champs – Rosebank
• 1st Manawatu Champs – Palmerston North
• 1st Auckland Champs – Rosebank
• 1st West Coast Champs – Wanganui
• 2nd Ray Tarrant Memorial – Palmerston North
• 3rd Best Pairs – Palmerston North
• 3rd East Coast Champs (rerun) – Meeanee.

The team also crossed the ditch to compete at the FIM Oceania Title in Adelaide, adding international experience to an already outstanding season.

This video was produced by the same team in bright orange based out of Turn 4 at Robertson Prestige International Speedway. Additional footage was kindly supplied by Trackside Snippets from the North Island Sidecar Title at Meeanee. A huge thank you also goes to Sandy McPhee, who runs the speedway group ā€œHiā€ It’s Sandy - Lover of Rosebank Speedway Racing. After randomly reaching out to ask if she had any Sidecar footage available, especially from the NZ Sidecar Grand Prix, she kindly supplied footage from the event where 8p Rob Miller and Jaxon Hannan claimed the title. Make sure you go and check out the group for plenty more Rosebank Speedway content and coverage.

I do need to apologise for the lack of logos on some of the footage. A large amount of the vision had to be reframed and altered to best suit the action, which meant logos would have been partially cut off or affected the overall presentation of the video.

That wraps up the awards coverage from the 2025/2026 season. Sit back and enjoy one final action-packed highlights package celebrating another incredible season of speedway.

The next award from the awards night is the Robertson Prestige International Speedway Female Competitor of the Year, which went to 23p Riki Lee Kauri from Kauri Motorsport after an impressive 2025/2026 season.

In January, Riki Lee claimed victory at the U23 Stockcar Champs hosted by Stratford Speedway New Zealand, but that was only part of a season filled with strong performances. She also stood on the podium numerous times at Robertson Prestige International Speedway, including:

• 2nd in the Manawatu Champs
• 3rd in the King of the Arena
• 3rd in the Brent Lowe Memorial

This video was produced by the same team in bright orange based out of Turn 4 at Robertson Prestige International Speedway, with additional footage kindly supplied by Blake's Speedway from the U23 Stockcar Champs at Stratford Speedway.

I do need to apologise for the lack of logos on some of the footage. A large amount of the vision had to be reframed and altered to best suit the action, which meant logos would have been partially cut off or affected the overall presentation of the video.

Now we move into the first of three competitor award videos from the awards night.

First up is the Manawatu Speedway Club Inc Competitor of the Year, 3NZp Daniel Nickel from Hyphen Racing and part of the D.T.H Racing Stables. In January, Daniel claimed the 3NZ title at the New Zealand Minisprint Champs hosted by Stratford Speedway New Zealand.

Daniel’s season did not start the way he would have hoped after suffering a rollover on opening night, but throughout the season he showed determination and consistency to turn things around and finish the year with one of the biggest achievements in New Zealand Minisprint racing.

This video was produced by the same team in bright orange based out of Turn 4 at Robertson Prestige International Speedway, with additional footage kindly supplied by Blake's Speedway from the New Zealand Minisprint Champs at Stratford Speedway.

I do need to apologise for the lack of logos on some of the footage. A large amount of the vision had to be reframed and altered to best suit the action, which meant logos would have been partially cut off or affected the overall presentation of the video.

The second teams racing video from the awards features 3NZp William Humphries from Humphries Racing, who took out the Warrior of the Oval award after an outstanding 2025/2026 season.

In January, William claimed the 3NZ title at the New Zealand SuperStock Champs at Wellington Family Speedway. Throughout the season he also represented the Palmerston North Panthers Official Superstock team at both the SuperStock Teams Extravaganza and the ENZED SuperStock Teams at Robertson Prestige International Speedway, along with competing at the Oceanview Speedway SuperStock Teams event and the Teams Nationals at Waikaraka Family Speedway.

This video was produced by the same team in bright orange based out of Turn 4 at Robertson Prestige International Speedway, with additional footage kindly supplied by Blake's Speedway, featuring coverage from the New Zealand SuperStocks at Wellington Speedway, the SuperStock Teams event at Wanganui, and the Teams Nationals at Waikaraka.

The next video from the awards night is the first of three videos to feature either SuperStock Teams Racing or Stockcar Teams Racing.

This one celebrates the Best Team Member award, which went to 669p Brendon Tye from Tye Racing Team. During the season Brendon represented both the Palmerston North Pumas, the Palmerston North Colts , and the Manawatu Mustangs, showcasing the commitment, determination, and team-first attitude that makes teams racing so special.

The video was produced by the same team in bright orange based out of Turn 4 at Robertson Prestige International Speedway, with additional footage kindly supplied by Blake's Speedway, featuring coverage from the Oceanview Speedway SuperStock Teams, SuperStock Teams Nationals at Waikaraka Family Speedway, and the New Zealand Stockcar Teams Champs at Rotorua Stockcar Club Inc. Additional footage was also provided by Trackside Snippets from the Peter Barry Stockcar Teams.

I do need to apologise for the lack of logos on some of the footage. A large amount of the vision had to be reframed and altered to best suit the action, which meant logos would have been partially cut off or affected the overall presentation of the video.

18/05/2026

Last Saturday evening was the annual Manawatu Speedway Club Inc and Robertson Prestige International Speedway awards night, and over the last few seasons I’ve had the privilege of producing the season highlights package celebrating the 2025/2026 season.

This video is proudly produced by the team in bright orange based out of Turn 4 at Robertson Prestige International Speedway. A huge thank you also goes to Trackside Snippets, who kindly allowed us to use their footage from the Peter Barry Stockcar Teams featuring the Palmerston North Pumas and the Palmerston North Colts . Without the support and collaboration from others within the speedway community, projects like this would not be possible.

So sit back and enjoy the action-packed highlights of the 2025/2026 season.

31/12/2025

As the year comes to a close, tonight feels like the right moment to pause and reflect on the last 12 months — both personally and professionally. Part of that reflection has meant stepping away for a short time, getting out into a camping environment, slowing everything down, and giving myself the space to properly think, reset, and gain perspective.

This year has been a reminder that progress doesn’t always come in big leaps. Sometimes it comes from simply showing up, adapting, and finding ways to keep moving forward when things don’t run smoothly. There were challenges that tested patience, health, and focus, but also moments that quietly reinforced why the work is worth doing.

Through Iworkz Productions and Speedway Gladiators, this past year has been about refining workflows, learning how to work smarter, and building something sustainable — not just content, but consistency. Much of the growth this year happened behind the scenes, often unnoticed, but it laid foundations that will matter moving forward.

I also want to acknowledge my partner, Sue Prebble. Her support, patience, and understanding — especially through the tougher moments — have been constant, and I genuinely could not have done this year without her standing beside me.

Speedway continues to be about more than just racing. It’s about people, stories, effort, and community. Being able to help tell those stories, even in small ways, remains something I don’t take for granted.

I’m grateful to everyone who has supported the journey this year — whether through encouragement, collaboration, trust, or simply taking the time to watch, share, or engage. Those things matter more than many realise.

As the new year approaches, there are no loud promises or grand declarations. Just a commitment to keep learning, keep improving, and keep moving forward — one step at a time.

Here’s to closing out this year with gratitude, and opening the next with quiet confidence.

Happy New Year.

With the final media files for 2025 now safely backed up and archived, it’s time to draw a line under what has been a big year for iWorkz Productions.

A massive thank you to everyone who has supported the work throughout the year. Most importantly, to my partner Sue Prebble, who has been there through some incredibly tough moments as well as the good ones — your support means more than I can put into words. I’m really looking forward to switching off briefly and heading away camping with you.

I’d also like to acknowledge those who have contributed time, effort, and support behind the scenes. Every bit of help has played a part in getting content delivered week in and week out, often under challenging circumstances.

Looking ahead, I’ll be continuing through the 2026 season and, all going to plan, returning for the 2026/27 season recharged and highly motivated. I’ve only just begun to explore what’s possible creatively, and there’s a lot more still to come.

Thank you for backing iWorkz Productions and being part of the journey.
