Speedway Gladiators

Speedway Gladiators Welcome to Speedway Gladiators, a project that had its inception during the 2013/2014 speedway season. However, our vision remains undiminished.

Originally conceived for television broadcast on Sommet Sports, the project faced an unfortunate setback with the closure of the television channel. In New Zealand, we have a wealth of unique speedway classes that are exclusive to our nation. With Speedway Gladiators, our mission is to shine a global spotlight on the distinctiveness of New Zealand's speedway culture and share it with the world.

Speedway Gladiators Season 2 Episode 13 - Released 22nd February 2025 – Robertson Prestige International Speedway

This episode covers all the drama and intensity from the 2025 ENZED New Zealand Superstock Teams Championship final night, an event that delivered high-stakes action, fierce rivalries, and a new level of tactical complexity under the six-car format. With championship glory on the line, teams were pushed to their limits in an unpredictable and physically demanding night of racing.

The spotlight falls on the Stratford Scrappers, who scored an impressive 250 points but finished fifth overall. Their surprising placement reflects the challenges of the event’s new tiered structure, where high scores alone are no longer enough to guarantee advancement. With only one team surpassing the 300-point threshold, the night was defined by attrition, race control decisions, and on-track strategy rather than outright speed.

A dramatic final between the Christchurch Eagles and the Baypark Busters brought the event to a thrilling conclusion, with the Eagles securing their third consecutive title. Disqualifications and penalties played a significant role throughout the night, underscoring the intensity and aggressive competition on display.

This episode also highlights the emergence of new talent, as younger drivers stepped up and demonstrated they belong among the best. With championship trophies now etched with both historic and fresh names, the future of the sport looks strong.

The crowd brought the atmosphere to life, particularly during a memorable “light wave” moment on the final lap that captured the emotion and engagement of the night. Fan energy and team passion were on full display, reinforcing how much this championship means to those involved—on and off the track.

As teams begin preparations for the 2026 season, this event will stand as a milestone. The six-car format demands endurance, precision, and cohesion. The bar has been raised for what it takes to win, and the groundwork has been laid for even more exciting seasons to come.
