🎷🎶 We're kicking off our Jazz Shed Studio space with the Latin classic Agua de Beber! 🎶🎷
We’ve started gathering on Fridays to share music, rhythm, and good vibes.

We’re also offering saxophone lessons for adults 🎼🎷
A few spots are still available for next term!

Whether you're a beginner, picking it back up, or just want to enjoy the journey — we’d love to have you! 💛

And just like that… our performance on board is complete!
What an unforgettable way to begin our journey through the South Island of Aotearoa. ⛴️

We had such an amazing time performing as the band on board with — and this time, we had a beautiful surprise:
We met Alexandra, a talented violinist 🎻 during the cruise, who joined us spontaneously and added a magical touch to our set!

Jamal and Dante rocked it on percussion and harmonica 🥁🎼, and sharing music together as a family (plus a new musical friend!) made this experience extra special.

Now, with full hearts and rhythms still ringing in our ears, we continue our adventure through the South Island!
Huge thanks once again to the awesome / Interislander team and Bands on Board for the opportunity and support!

🎶 Attention lovers of Latin music and Day of the Dead culture! 🎶

This weekend, we’re bringing you a musical marathon filled with rhythms and lyrics in Spanish to celebrate together. Here are the details so you don’t miss out on anything!

🗓 Saturday, November 2
📍 Paraparaumu Beach Market – Starting in the morning, we’ll be connecting with the community, sharing songs from the Trío Mātātā Project.

📍 Hola Streetfood – Official launch of Trío Mātātā Project from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Book your table and join us for a unique night!

📍 The Tele Otaki – At 10:00 pm, we’ll be performing with FeÑa Latino Band, bringing energetic, Latin-flavored music to the night.

🗓 Sunday, November 3
📍 Otaki Festival – Starting at noon, we’ll take the stage again with Mātātā Project to fill the day with Latin rhythms.

📍 Otaki Spring Music Festival – At 4:00 pm, we’ll close the weekend with FeÑa Latino to end the celebration in style.

It was a great honor for Horowhenua College to welcome the Chilean ambassador, Manahi Pakarati, of Rapanui origin, and Consul María Alejandra Farías Muñoz. Yesterday, they presented us with a valuable collection of books in Spanish, with translations into te reo Māori and English, by poets Gabriela Mistral and Pablo Neruda.

We are deeply grateful for this generous gift and for the beautiful connection that was formed between our Māori students and the rich culture of Latin America.

Fue un gran honor para Horowhenua College recibir la visita de la embajadora de Chile, Manahi Pakarati, de origen Rapanui, y de la cónsul María Alejandra Farías Muñoz. Ayer, nos entregaron una valiosa colección de libros en español, con traducción al te reo maorí e inglés, de los poetas Gabriela Mistral y Pablo Neruda.

Estamos profundamente agradecidos por este generoso obsequio y por la hermosa conexión que se creó entre nuestros estudiantes maoríes y latinoamericanos.
