I heard a story during the week. There are some law firms out there differentiating themselves by saying "we don't use AI, we still do things the traditional way". That's their selling point.
Make no mistake, for those of us analysing the legal market and forecasting which firms will make it in the AI era, this leads to one immediate thought - that's not going to work.
Being traditional is great until your client wants something done urgently, half your team is sick (because, humans) and you've got 45 messages to return about other new matters that just entered the chat.
Law life is a series of peaks and, well, peaks. If you want to compete in the AI-first era, you will need to ditch the tradition and master the AI. As yoda said “you must unlearn what you have learned.”
